"Illuminated Ops" is a three night, multi-artist, video projection-mapping exhibition to take place at "The Art Yards" in Washington, D.C., December 12-14, 2013. With the soon to be razed, former National Geospatial Intelligence Agency facility as its canvas, the exhibition is a curated collection of works from three internationally acclaimed projection-mapping artist groups.
"Illuminated Ops" will delve beyond the facade of the structure and into unique worlds of interpreting and expressing information. Considerations of gathered data, knowledge and wisdom inform "Illuminated Ops", as it seeks to move with fluidity between the past, present and future. Through the use of light, and a keen understanding of mapping technology, the artists will reveal their own visions, defining and exploring shifting environments, ultimately challenging viewers to reimagine the palette of possibility.
